About it
EDISU Piemonte’s Food Service offers university students meals at discounted or full-price rates, guaranteeing care with the quality and variety of the menu. The service is provided at university canteens located in Piedmont or at contracted facilities located near university campuses.
Who the service is for
The food service is intended for all university students, Italian and foreign, duly enrolled at the Piedmont universities indicated in the Regulations.
The following persons also have access to university's Food Service:
- Students enrolled at other Italian and foreign universities who are in Piedmont for study purposes, visiting researchers and those belonging to specific projects;
- Scholarship recipients from private research organisations, foundations and the like, and participants in conferences, seminars and study activities;
- Teaching staff, university staff and lecturers, including from other Italian and foreign universities;
- Any other users duly authorised by the organisation.
How to access
Access methods vary according to the type of user
Students awarded a scholarship: all students enrolled in the current academic year for the first year or years following the first year in degree courses, master's degree courses, single-cycle master's degree courses, PhDs and specialisation schools, who have applied for and been awarded a scholarship do not have to apply for the food service. The application is included in the scholarship application.
Students who have NOT applied for the Scholarship: this service may be accessed by submitting a specific application by all students enrolled in the current academic year for the first year or years following the first year in degree courses, master's degree courses, single-cycle master's degree courses, PhDs and specialisation schools who have NOT applied for the Scholarship through the Online portal.
Incoming international mobility students (Erasmus, etc.): these students may only use the service at the request of the host university. Therefore, they do NOT have to register on our systems and do not have to fill out the food service application.
University staff and other users: access is possible after submitting a specific request as an “external user”. These users are not entitled to access the service at a discounted rates.
Login - Campus Piemonte ID Meal app
University canteens and alternative services are exclusively accessed via the app named "Campus Piemonte ID Meal", available for iOS and Android devices on the App Store, Google Play and the Huawei AppGallery.
The app allows users to view and manage their electronic wallet to make recharges and use it for direct payment at the cash desks of alternative services.
The following steps are required to access the canteens:
- App download and activation
- Download the app from the Apple (for iOS), Google Play (for Android) and AppGallery (HUAWEI) stores;
- Enter the reserved area of the EDISU Online portal to link the app with your mobile device;
- Click on “Food service portal” in the top right-hand corner
- If you are a student who has applied for Food Service discounted rates subsidies from EDISU, if you are an EDISU scholarship holder or a incoming mobility student (Erasmus) you can click on “Associazione App” [app pairing] and, immediately afterwards, on "Associazione App Mensa” [Food Service app pairing];
- If you are a student without subsidies or university teaching staff, or if you are a member of the university staff or EDISU Piemonte staff, or if you are another person authorised under art. 1 of the Food service Regulations, click on “Food Service other user” to register. Only then do you associate your device as indicated in the previous point;
- Click on “Generate QR Code” and frame it with your smartphone to activate the app;
- Open the app and choose a 5-digit PIN. This procedure is only valid for the first access; after this, you only need to enter your PIN or use automatic (biometric) recognition.
N.B. Please associate the app at least one hour before its use to ensure that it works. In case you delete the app or you change your device, make sure to first dissociate the app and then, after the new download, make a new association.
If any corrections or changes are made to the application submitted during the academic year, students must wait 36 hours before they can use the service again, to allow for proper data synchronization.
- Electronic wallet recharge
- Tap on “Ricarica borsellino elettronico” [Recharge electronic wallet]
- Tap on “Borsellino mensa” [Food Service wallet]
- You can recharge your wallet through the UNICREDIT channel (without fees). N.B. the wallet balance display is not immediate but occurs after a few hours due to data synchronisation issues.
- Tap on "Ricarica borsellino elettronico (PagoPA)” [Recharge electronic wallet (PAGO PA)] to recharge your wallet using the “PagoPA” platform (with fees). N.B. If you recharge your electronic wallet via PagoPA, the sums deposited may be credited within 72 hours.
- Tap on “Verifica saldo borsellino” [Check wallet balance] to check your app's electronic wallet balance.
At this point, you’re ready to go to the canteen and eat your meal. Just open the app, go to the till and, via the Food Service Card function, generate the QR Code to show the operator.

N.B. In the event of problems with payments via the app, students are asked to keep their receipt and immediately open a ticket with a request for a refund.
END-OF-CAREER REIMBURSEMENT
You can apply for an end-of-career reimbursement if you are a student who has completed your studies at the universities in Piedmont because you:
- Graduated (not a graduating student);
- Transferred to a non-Piedmont university;
- Withdrew from studies;
- Are a participant in an international mobility programme (Erasmus) returning to their home university.
How to get the reimbursement?
You must fill in and sign by hand the special end-of-career reimbursement form wherein, you must specify the reason you are requesting the reimbursement, as well as your identification details. The form should be sent to the following email address riaccreditiristorazione@edisu-piemonte.it, in .pdf format and accompanied by a copy of your proof of identity.
Rates and income brackets
The rate system is divided into five brackets, established according to the student's financial situation and indicated in the Food Service Regulations: four discounted rates, reserved for students meeting certain financial requirements, and a fifth bracket corresponding to the full rate (named "bracket 6").
Full rate
You can access the full rate (bracket 6):
- If you do not apply for the discounted rates
- If, having submitted the application, it is found that you do not meet the income requirements for access to the discounted rates set out in the Food Service Regulations
- If you are part of the university staff and other users
To directly access the full rate you just need to:
- Complete the online application entitled “Domanda Altri Utenti” [Other Users Application].
- Go to a university canteen.
- Be in possession of an electronic wallet, obtainable via the “Campus Piemonte ID Meal” app
The amount of the full rate varies depending on the meal formula and the food service point (canteen or alternative services).
Discounted rates
Access to the 4 different price brackets of the discounted rates is only permitted to those who meet the financial requirements set out in the Regulations and submit the relevant online application.
