Guarantee Committee

The Guarantee Committee for Equal Opportunities, the Enhancement of the Wellbeing of Workers and against Discrimination (CUG) was established under art. 21 of Law 183/2010 of 4 November and is governed by the "Guidelines on the Operating Procedures of the Guarantee Committees" issued by the Prime Ministerial Directive of 4 March 2011.

Duties

Within its remit, the CUG exercises its duties to propose, consult and monitor, which aim to:

  • enhance the wellbeing of people in the work context and promote workers’ fulfilment through listening, guidance and protection;
  • promote a more humane, respectful and productive organisational culture of Organisational Well-Being by paying attention to the quality of the working environment as a whole;
  • guarantee equal opportunities and promote measures to prevent and combat any form of discrimination based on gender, age, ethnic origin, language, religion, sexual orientation, and health conditions;
  • promote work-life balance through management of working hours and flexible working arrangements;
  • prevent and combat any form of moral, psychological or sexual violence;
  • counter, monitor, inform and raise awareness about the phenomenon of mobbing;
  • contribute to inform and train about the issues the staff deals with to create full awareness in people in work contexts.

Whom the Committee is for

The CUG addresses its actions to the organisation's staff.

Committee Composition

The Guarantee Committee has an equal composition and consists of one member designated by each of the most representative trade union organisations at the Administration level and an equal number of representatives of the Administration, as well as an equal number of alternate members, so as to ensure the equal presence of both genders. The Chairperson is appointed by the Administration.
