About it
Accessibility refers to the ability of IT systems, such as websites and mobile applications, in the forms and within the limits permitted by technological knowledge, to provide services and information in such a way that they are usable, without discrimination or limitation, even by those who, due to disability, require assistive technologies or special configurations (Article 2, paragraph a, Law 4/2004).
To this end, public administrations, pursuant to Article 3, paragraph 1 of Law No. 4/2004, must also pursue the objective of achieving and ensuring the full usability of the information published on their websites and web services.
Objectives
The public administrations referred to in Article 1, paragraph 2, of Legislative Decree No. 165 of March 30, 2001, publish their accessibility objectives annually on their websites, as required by Article 9, paragraph 7, of Decree Law No. 179/2012.
Since 2023, these objectives have been incorporated into the PIAO (Integrated Activity and Organization Plan), which is the single planning and management document that public administrations must adopt by January of each year.
In the PIAO 2025-2027, EDISU Piemonte has set itself the following objectives:
- improving the accessibility of the institutional web portal
- removing the critical issues that emerged from usability tests
- strengthening monitoring and evaluation processes
- promoting digital identity and the usability of services for students
- internal training and a culture of accessibility
