Extraordinary grant

About the grant

The extraordinary grant is a financial aid reserved for students who are experiencing particular hardship caused by serious events that have affected their household (financial, medical, bereavement, etc.) that could jeopardise the continuation of their studies (pursuant to the Evaluation System for Extraordinary Actions for Students Experiencing Particular Hardship Due to Serious Reasons, approved by the EDISU Board of Directors).

Recipients

The grant is allocated in order of priority:

  1. Students enrolled for the 2025/26 academic year in a year following the first or a first year of a postgraduate degree, winners in the 2024-25 academic year, who have lost the merit requirements for the 2025-26 academic year due to the event for which the grant is requested;

  2. Students who, by the 2024/25 scholarship application deadline, possessed the merit requirements for the scholarship but lacked the financial requirements and who can prove, through their current ISEE (Indicator of Equivalent Economic Situation), one of the following conditions that mean they fall within the ISSE/ISPE (Indicator of Equivalent Asset Situation) limits for the allocation of the scholarship, i.e:
    • income reduction of more than 25%,
    • reduction in assets (movable and/or immovable property) of more than 20%,
    • reduction of household members following a death.

For the students referred to in point 1 above, the events justifying the request must have occurred in the period from 1 December 2023 to 10 August 2024;

For the students referred to in point 2 above, the events justifying the request must have occurred in the period from 4 September 2024 to 15 April 2025;

For students under point 2, please note that the current ISEE certificate must be valid. If the asset decrease occurred during the period between 4 September and 31 December 2024, the current ISEE must have been applied for during 2024; if the asset loss occurred during the period between 1 January and 15 April 2025, the current ISEE must have been applied for from 1 April 2025.
