EDISU Piemonte, the regional authority for the Right to University Education, offers real opportunities that allows students to make the most of their time at university in Piemonte, granting benefits (scholarships, accommodation, meal service) according to yearly family income ranges and yearly number of exams given. EDISU also provides general services (university restaurants, study and computer Wi-Fi rooms, book loans, etc) to all university students.

Scholarships and accomodation services

• What is it?
  • A scholarship is a payment that is awarded to university students who apply through a public application procedure. The amount varies according to a student’s financial status, nationality and the time required to commute via public transport to study halls. Payment is made in two six-monthly instalments.

• Scholarship requirements
  • In order to qualify for a scholarship, students must meet the financial requirements (income and assets) and study requirements (number of credits) specified by the regulations.
    STUDENTS WHO ARE EU CITIZENS must provide the same documents as Italian students, regarding their financial status.
    FOREIGN STUDENTS FROM NON-EU COUNTRIES are asked to provide specific documents issued by the authorities in their country of origin, confirming the financial status and assets of their immediate family. Furthermore, students must provide a copy of their visa, the Recognition of Foreign Qualifications (dichiarazione di valore) (if enrolled in the first year) and their residence permit. If this has expired, students must provide a copy of this together with a receipt confirming their application for renewal.

Accomodation service

• What is it?
  • Edisu Piemonte offers places in halls of residence located in Turin, Alessandria, Cuneo, Mondovì, Novara and Vercelli to foreign full-time students and students who have been awarded scholarships. The requirements for applying for these places are the same as those for scholarships.

Catering/Meal services

Edisu restaurants are open to all university students and offer high quality food and a varied menu. Should there be no university restaurants near the faculty, alternative subsidised services are available.
